Vera and Zack are a beautifully intriguing couple that I couldn’t get enough of! Watching Zach’s life change almost as drastically as Vera’s almost broke my heart, but he was determined to live a life filled with love and meaning. He tried to reach out to her with his strength and courage, but there was only so much he could do when she wasn’t ready to allow him to have full access to her heart. I loved that Vera didn’t close her heart to Zach no matter how much pain and confusion she was dealing with. Instead, she pulled him closer as she began to see that listening to her heart was not a bad thing after all. The healing and transforming power of their love was truly astounding. I couldn’t get enough of these two, and I really hope to hear from them again in the future.

“Knowing Vera” is essentially the story of two people connected through series on incidents over the years. On one hand we have Vera Custodio, who was only a little girl when her father committed suicide after allegedly killing a woman name Lillian Spencer. It had been a traumatic event of her life – one that had taken away her voice for over a year and her ‘happily everafter’ forever. On the other hand we have Zach Spencer, a bright athlete whose life is left broken after an accident. Once a ladies’ man and now cripple, Zach has his own share of issues to deal with. And then we go on to find that Lillian Spencer, the lady Vera’s dada allegedly killed, was Zach’s mother! With so much of their past weighing on their shoulder and this new discovery, will Zach and Vera ever find love and happiness with each other?

Zach on the other hand is not only an eye-candy; he has a heart to match his features. His experiences in life haven’t been all rosy either. When an accident leaves him crippled and takes away his dreams, he doesn’t break down. Instead he re-evaluates life and makes some new dream for him to chase. Bring together these two people and the result is sizzling chemistry! Their characters grow throughout the story and as readers we get to know them practically at a personal level.

One thing that is very consistent about Rachelle Ayala’s novels is her amazing story-telling capability. It reflects in each of her novels as she takes us on a journey with her protagonists who slowly capture our hearts. The way she builds up the mystery is quite good and she manages to maintain the air of curiosity so well that you will not be able to take a guess until she is ready to let you take a guess. Another aspect of Rachelle’s writing is the amazing balance that the author maintains between mystery and romance. Not one aspect gets outshined by the other and that is maintained in this novel too.

If you wanna read a mystery story that curls your toes as well, then this is your book - well after Broken Build. Knowing Vera is a sizzling tale of love and intrigue.
This is my first book by Rachelle Ayala, and it won't be the last. I found this story completely absorbing. Vera's past is very troubling and she must find answers before she can totally care for Zach. But getting her answers leaves them both open to new mystery and darkness that stalks them. I have never loved romantic suspense so much. The characters just draw you in and wrap themselves around your heart until you want to jump into the book to help them and direct them. The mystery is not easily solved and will keep you wondering until the end. Watch out! You won't want to put this down.
This is book 3 in a 3-book series. I did not read the first 2 books, which would have been better, and I would recommend that – but this book still stood on its own. An exciting, thrilling, and touching story of mystery, terror, secrets, and romance that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. A woman is torn between two men, as she travels to Australia to try to find out who murdered her friend’s mother, if her father is still alive, which of the men has harmful intentions, who she could trust, if she would survive, and if she would find true love. As the story unfolded, with surprising twists and turns, I never knew who to trust or what would happen. A well-written and exciting read, I could not put this book down. Great story and amazing author, I will read more books by her! I loved this and highly recommend it.
